Gokarna Pokharel

Gokarna Prasad Pokharel (GP) embarked on his journey in Nepal’s tourism industry in 1985, initially serving as a trekking porter. With two years of valuable experience, he earned a promotion to the position of Kitchen Head. In 1989, seizing a new opportunity, GP embraced the role of a trekking guide at a different agency, expanding his responsibilities.

Notably, prior to 1998, all trekking activities were organized as camping treks due to the absence of lodges in Annapurna, Langtang, and Everest regions during that period. Hailing from the Dolakha district in the Bagmati province of Nepal, GP has led trekking groups in the western Dolpa and eastern Kanchenjunga regions. However, his preferred area of expertise is the Everest region.

GP currently operates as a trekking guide in Nepal, holding a trekking guide license issued by the Ministry of Tourism of the Government of Nepal. His official trekking guide’s license number is 2327.

Shambhu Pokharel

Shambhu Prasad Pokharel entered the tourism industry in Nepal in 1984 as a trekking porter. After 3 years of experience, he was promoted to Kitchen boy. 3 years later, he had the opportunity to become a guide at another agency, and he accepted the offer and began working as a trekking guide in 1988 with new responsibilities. Kiran Bhandari

Buddhi Bahadur Bhandari (KIRAN) entered the tourism industry in Nepal in 1999 as a trekking porter. After 3 years of experience, he was promoted to cook. 1 years later, he got the opportunity to become an assistant guide. 2 years later got new opportunity and he accepted the offer then began working as a trekking guide in 2004 with new responsibilities. He is from the Sindhupalchok district of the Bagmati province of Nepal. He has been leading trekking groups in Nepal to the Annapurna, Langtang, Everest, Dolpo, Mustang, Manaslu, Rolwaling, and Kanchenjunga but his favorite areas is Dolpo. He has trekking experience in Ladakh, India and Mount Kailash in Tibet. He works as a trekking guide in Nepal. He has obtained a trekking guide license from the Ministry of Tourism of the Government of Nepal and the trekking guide’s license number is 4577.

Tek Bhandari

Tek Bahadur Bhandari (TEK) entered Nepal’s tourism industry in 1996 as a trekking porter. After 2 years, he had the opportunity to become an assistant guide. He got the opportunity and accepted the offer and started working as a trekking guide in 2000 with new responsibilities. It is true that before 1998 Annapurna, Langtang and Everest did not have lodges, so all treks were conducted as camping treks. He is from Sindhupalchok district of Bagmati province of Nepal. Although he has led trekking groups in Nepal to Annapurna, Langtang, Everest, Mustang and Manaslu, his favorite area is Mustang. He has also experienced trekking in Annapurna and Upper Mustang with Mountain Biking Group. He works as a trekking guide in Nepal. He has taken a trekking guide license from the Ministry of Tourism of the Government of Nepal and the trekking guide’s license number is 2919.

 

Narayan Bhandari

Mr. Narayan Bahadur Bhandari (Narayan) entered Nepal’s tourism industry in 2002 as a porter. After 3 years of experience, he was promoted to porter-cum-guide. After 3 years, an opportunity came to become an assistant guide. After 2 years he was promoted as a trekking guide and started working as a trekking guide from 2010 with new responsibilities. He is from Sindhupalchok district of Bagmati province of Nepal. He has led Annapurna, Langtang, Everest, Mustang, Manaslu, Rolwaling and Kanchenjunga treks in Nepal but his favorite areas are Manaslu and Mustang. He has experience as a trek guide in Ladakh, India and he is also working as a permanent trekking guide in Nepal with Jagdamba Holidays. He has obtained a trekking guide license from the Ministry of Tourism of the Government of Nepal. His trekking guide license number is 6916.

Mukunda Pokharel

Mukunda Prasad Pokharel “Mukunda” joined Nepal’s leading adventure travel company “Jagadamba Holidays” as a permanent trekking guide since 2021. He is an expert on trekking in the Annapurna, Langtang and Everest regions. Manaslu and Mustang areas are also known. He is a A grade trekking guide license holder.

Shyam KC joined Nepal’s leading adventure travel company “Jagadamba Holidays” as a permanent trekking guide since 2021. He is an expert on trekking in the Annapurna, Langtang and Everest regions. He is a A grade trekking guide license holder.
