The best way to visit Tibet at low cost is to visit Tibet with a group which we call Tibet Budget Tour. The best designed Tibet budget tour program duration is 8 days which starts from Kathmandu and ends in Kathmandu. This is a budget travel route to Tibet that ensures the lowest cost and safe travel to Tibet via Rasuwagadhi in Nepal. To reduce the cost we need to increase the number of group members so we welcome anyone from anywhere in the world and that’s why we named this tour the International Tibet Group Tour. Nyalam is the town in Tibet where we enter Tibet on the first day of this tour. However, the group will spend the first night in Kerung, a small village in Tibet. After spending one night in Xegar at an altitude of 4,500 meters, group members should head towards Lhasa. Before reaching Lhasa, we will spend two nights in the beautiful Tibetan cities of Shigatse and Gyantse. Living in the high altitude of Lhasa is nothing to worry about; spending the night at over 3,000 m and traversing over 5,000 m will acclimatize your body before reaching Lhasa. Spending the night above 3,000 meters and trekking above 5,000 meters will acclimatize your body before reaching Lhasa and make your stay in Lhasa more comfortable and memorable. Members of the designated tour group will have to drive around 5 to 7 hours each day to see the main monuments en-route.

The main attractions of this tour are Milarepa Cave in Nyalam, Tashilumpo Cave in Shigatse, Gyantse Zhong in Gyantse and Yamdrok Lake on the way from Shigatse to Gyantse. The high passes decorated with Tibetan prayer flags are photogenic and the spectacular Himalayan mountain range above 5,000 meters is another highlight of this tour. The landscape of the plateau, typical villages of Tibetan settlements will be passed every day during the journey. The final leg of the tour is Lhasa which is also the capital of Tibet. According to the program, the group will stay in Lhasa for three nights. While in Lhasa, your Tibetan English-speaking tour guide will take group members to Potala Palace, Sera Monastery, Norbulingka Palace, Jokhang Temple and Barkhor Square. On the eighth day either depart for China or return to Kathmandu. You also have the option of returning to Kathmandu from Lhasa on a safe, cheap flight. However, so far there is no direct flight between Kathmandu and Lhasa. In this case, if there is no direct flight between Kathmandu and Lhasa by the date of your travel, you will have to reschedule your return journey to Kathmandu by road travel.

If you are traveling with a group of 25 people, don’t worry, we will operate according to the itinerary with your chosen dates and customizations. Websites for Nepal Trekking and Climbing mention group size here so it is not related to Kailash so please ignore this group size. Minimum group size for Kailash tour operation should be 25 people in a group as we need a minimum 25 people to get a Kailash tour permit. The quoted price is also based on it. Given price will be changed any time if TTB increases the price in future.

Tibet and Kailash tour operators of Kathmandu have agreed to form a single group if the travel date is the same and the booking is less than 25 people. We offer different brands but in Tibet, China they form the same group which is the main reason. Our main aim is to make traveling easy and provide quality service. Indian and Nepalese tour operators can’t do anything in Tibet because the Chinese are different from the rest of the world, so it’s best to go on a trip with the idea that we’re only going to visit Lord Shiva’s birth place. Also keep in mind that we are only going to touch Mount Kailash. Don’t expect any luxury during the Kailash Yatra.

Although the border of Tibet is open for foreigners, it is not known when it will be opened for Indian pilgrims.
