Thapa Peak Expedition is a famous peak climbing adventure holiday in Dhaulagiri region. Mount Dhaulagiri in Nepal is the seventh highest mountain in the world. This magnificent peak rises as a giant shoulder of glistening ice and snow. The Dhaulagiri region is rarely visited and the surrounding valleys and villages remain intact and unchanged for generations. The trail takes us across the Kali Gandaki River to Dhampus Pass (5,182 m) and Dhampus Peak (6,012 m, 6,035 m/6,060 m on some maps), a high grade route. Located to the northeast of the massive Dhaulagiri massif, Dhampus Peak – a non-technical peak – is the only place from where an observer can clearly see the two massive Annapurna and Dhaulagiri ranges above 8,000 meters.

From this peak one can get a very close view of Tukuche and Dhaulagiri peaks. Thirty different mountain ranges can be seen from the peak, making it an unparalleled Himalayan panorama point. No climbing experience is required to climb Dhampus Peak. The general route to the summit follows the west ridge. The ridge also connects the famous Dhampus Pass (5,200 m). A high camp for the summit is erected here, from where climbers proceed to the summit.

  14. Day 14 Kathmandu – leisure day and evening farewell dinner

Famous for its hilly airports, Nepal offers many domestic flights giving you access to all parts of the country. When there is less time in Nepal, it is better to take a local flight to avoid long journeys. Mountain weather is often unpredictable, but it’s best to add one or two buffer days after your trek to adjust the time for flight delays. If you are planning an international flight around one of your domestic flights from a mountainous area, add at least one day of buffer travel days to your itinerary if possible. We will meet again in the evening for a farewell dinner at one of the best Nepali restaurants in the city, where we will be eager to hear your feedback about the trip.

Here is information about possible one-day activities. Listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, the main attractions of the Kathmandu Valley are three Durbar Square (Kathmandu, Patan and Bhaktapur) and four temples and stupas (Swayambhunath, Boudhanath, Pashupatinath Temple and Changu Narayan Temple). If you want to walk all day (8 hours), you can visit any four places [Boudhanath, Pashupatinath Temple, Changu Narayan Temple and Bhaktapur Durbar Square] or [Swayambhunath, Bungmati, Patan Durbar Square and Kathmandu Durbar Square] in one day. We can arrange a day trip at your request, and the service user will have to pay extra directly for it. Customers can hire a guide and car or rent a car. Stay overnight at the hotel with daily breakfast.

  15. Day 15 KATHMANDU : DEPARTURE DAY

Transfer from the hotel to the airport to return home at least three hours before your flight departure time. According to the Nepal Immigration Department, we will also help in obtaining the necessary documents for the flight from Kathmandu. We hope that your visit to Nepal and the activities you carried out during the trek will remind you to visit Nepal again in the coming days. We wish you a safe return home. We hope to see you in Kathmandu again in the coming days!

The accommodation we use may vary depending on our package travel and the range of travel destinations. Before or after the trip you can book comfortable hotels in cities like Kathmandu and Pokhara for your stay. If you book a tea house trekking trip, we will provide a small two-bed room for sharing in the hill lodges which is a basic facility but very clean.

Now, better-equipped lodges are also available in Annapurna and Everest areas but we recommend trekkers to use accommodation above 3500 meters where clean rooms and clean food are readily available. Sometimes a level of flexibility may be required when trekking in remote mountain areas. We believe that you will complete your vacation without any problems and have the trip of a lifetime. If you book camping/trekking, our camping team will manage a comfortable camping site by the river where possible.

There will usually be a dedicated support team on the trip to move luggage and equipment, set up camp, and prepare your food. You will find more detailed information about travel accommodation which is mentioned separately in the lodging section of each vacation package page.

However, you can expect excellent service and high quality in any budget range you choose. You can learn more about different types of travel and their features and the proposed travel price by contacting us directly where we will be very pleased to answer your questions. We always try to choose comfortable accommodation with local character reflecting the best value based on twin share accommodation.

When you book a trip, unless you request a private single room, we will arrange for you to share a twin bed room with a person of the same gender. If you request a private single room, you will need to pay a single room supplementary fee. Please note that during the trek, if the destination is 4000 meters above sea level, only dormitory accommodation with private beds will be available. On trekking trips we try our best but do not promise guaranteed room options. For most of our camping trips, we supply branded two-person tents, including groundsheets.

Mess tent, kitchen tent, toilet tent, service plates, bowls, and all necessities are provided. Members of the mountaineering travel group are requested to manage according to the options given on the website.
