Local buses run from Gongabu Bus Park or Machha Pokhari daily from 6.30 am to 9 am and take 7 to 8 hours to reach the destination. After breakfast we leave the hotel early for Machha Pokhari to catch the bus to Shyabru Besi. The bus leaves Kathmandu valley at 4 am and reaches Shyabru Besi at 4 am. Leaving the Kathmandu valley, we will go to Shyabru Besi through the bustling city of Trishuli. One thing to keep in mind is that the bus is usually old and crowded which gives the journey a new experience. However, don’t be surprised if you find goats, chickens or sheep on the bus. Most local buses stop anywhere to add more passengers. Most of the local drivers plying this route are experts, so it is safe to travel by public transport. Most of the domestic and international trekkers visiting the Langtang region use this option on a daily basis. However, you can also opt for a comfortable travel experience, which brings us to option that is private vehicle.

After arriving at Shyabru Besi, proceed to your hotel and check in at the hotel. Spend your time at leisure or buy locally made goods or explore the local attractions in Shyabru Besi. Stay overnight at Royal Himalaya Hotel in Shyabru Besi.

Wake up early, have breakfast and get ready to start your trekking journey. Today is the first day of trekking and trekking from Shyabru Besi to Gatlang. Instead of following the route of the Langtang Valley Trek, this trek will take you in reverse. Tamang Heritage Trail Trek will give you an experience of Nepal’s untouched trekking routes. Leaving Shyabru Besi, hikers slowly climb the trails until you reach the view point. From there you can see the magnificent Ganesh Himal, Gosainkunda and Goljung valley. After a short break at a view point, you will continue your trek through several traditional Tamang settlements. During today’s trek there is an opportunity to get magnificent views of the landscape and awe-inspiring views of the peaks. From here you can reach the Gatlang after a few hours of walking. Gatlang is a beautiful Tamang settlement surrounded by terraced farmland on the hill. In the afternoon, you can visit the beautiful Parvati Kund, explore the village and interact with the people. The people of Gatlang are very friendly and good natured.

The distance Shyabru Besi and Gatlang is about 10.90 km and it takes about 5-6 hours to reach there. During our trek today we will climb 1,080 meters and descend 210 meters. During the trek, lunch will be arranged in between or at the destination depending on your appetite. After arriving at Gatlang, trekkers spend the evening at leisure or trek around with a guide. We will spend the night here. Stay overnight at a local teahouse in Gatlang.

  5. Day 5 Trek from Gatlang to Tatopani (2,607 m)

Today is the toughest day of the trek so wake up early, freshen up and visit the Tamang Monastery. Tamang Monastery is a popular attraction in Gatlang Village After exploring the beautiful monastery, you will have breakfast and head towards Tatopani. Today’s walk begins with a descent to Thambuchet, a beautiful river. After lunch, the trail heads up again, crossing a hanging bridge and climbing to Tatopani, your stop for the night. The city’s name literally means ‘hot water’ in Nepali, and there are cities with this name all over Nepal. Surprisingly, here you can enjoy natural hot springs, with water that comes straight out of the ground. Locals believe that the water has healing properties, and it will surely ease any aches and pains from the trek.

The distance Gatlang and Tatopani is about 10.40 km and it takes about 7-8 hours to reach there. During our trek today we will climb 840 meters and descend 560 meters. Today, first we have breakfast at the lodge, then we pack our bags and start our trekking journey to Nagthali Danda. As you pass through the incredible rhododendron forest clinging to the hillside, the vines and moss-covered trees give your surroundings a real “prehistoric” feel. However, instead of dinosaurs you are more likely to encounter an army of gray langur monkeys. After this, we reach Brimdang village before continuing on the bumpiest and steep part of the trail. One after the other, one can see better and better views of Ganesh Himal in the west and Langtang Himal in the east. About 45 minutes from Brimdang, the ridgeline ends in the open grasslands of the Nagthali Danda.

  7. Day 7 Trek from Nagthali Danda to Thuman (2,338 m)

Wake up early in the morning and climb to Taruche View Point (3,600m), the highest and most beautiful point of this trek. Described by some as the “Pun Hill of Langtang” (a popular view of the famous Annapurna region), Taruche offers panoramic views of Mount Ganesh to the west, Shishapangma (8,013 m) in Tibet to the north and Langtang to the east. Taruche View Point also has the added advantage of being much quieter than Poon Hill. This is one of the “Off the Beaten Treks” trails in Nepal. The off the beaten treks for cultural encounter helps to discover the mysteries of Tibetan Buddhism at the edge of one of the most secluded Himalayan valleys. In fact, during your hike, don’t be surprised if you’re the only person there but have to capture the best view. Of course, the photos don’t do it justice; you must visit to experience this magnificent sight for yourself. No wonder the hill serves as a perfect place for meditation and contemplation for monks. Stay here as long as you want, take in the ideas and enjoy the sense of accomplishment. After the sunrise tour, if you don’t have breakfast, return to the lodge. After breakfast, start your trek to Thuman. Thuman can be reached through the deep forest of Thuman, which is about 880 meters below Nagthali Danda. Trekkers can feel the distinct Tibetan influence in the village with its shamanistic beliefs, ancient monasteries and houses covered in wood carvings.

The distance Nagthali Danda and Thuman is about 3.41 km and it takes about 7-8 hours to reach there. During our trek today we will climb zero meters and descend 880 meters. During the trek, lunch will be arranged in between or at the destination depending on your appetite. After arriving at Thuman, trekkers spend the evening at leisure or trek around with a guide. We will spend the night here. Stay overnight at a homestay in Thuman.

Today’s trekking route usually follows the ups and downs of the whole trekking period but we have to walk uphill for about two hours to reach the destination. Our trekking route leads through rhododendron forests and grasslands to Briddim village in the heart of the Langtang Himal. It is the end of the Tamang Heritage Trail trek and is an attraction for many foreign travelers. Briddim village is also influenced by Tibetan culture, where we can enjoy homestay and Tamang culture. There are about 50 houses in Briddim village in the lap of Langtang Himal. Here you will experience an overnight homestay with a local family in your cozy wooden house. You will gain a better understanding of the culture here and share stories with your host.

The distance Thuman and Briddim is about 5.79 km and it takes about 5-6 hours to reach there. During our trek today we will climb 630 meters and descend 760 meters. After lunch, we will continue our trek to a Sherpa village offering a wonderful view of the high mountain range. During the afternoon trek, we will pass Chortens, bejeweled walls and prayer flags as we head towards the Sherpa Gaon. From here, one can see the panoramic view of the Langtang Mountain, which welcomes every tourist with the warm hospitality of the Tamang people.

There is not much tourist attraction in Shyabru Besi. It is the main market for local residents around Langtang area. The trail passes some waterfalls and scenic views of the beautiful Langtang River and Rhododendron Forest. From here, walk down to the destination along the banks of the Langtang River. Shyabru Besi is the gateway to the Langtang National Park, the Tamang Heritage Trek and the Gosainkunda Lake Trek and many other treks that follow the Langtang River and Valley.

Accommodation offered during the trip

The accommodation we use may vary depending on our package travel and the range of travel destinations. Before or after the trip you can book comfortable hotels in cities like Kathmandu and Pokhara for your stay. If you book a tea house trekking trip, we will provide a small two-bed room for sharing in the hill lodges which is a basic facility but very clean.

Now, better-equipped lodges are also available in Annapurna and Everest areas but we recommend trekkers to use accommodation above 3,500 meters where clean rooms and clean food are readily available. Sometimes a level of flexibility may be required when trekking in remote mountain areas. We believe that you will complete your vacation without any problems and have the trip of a lifetime. If you book camping/trekking, our camping team will manage a comfortable camping site by the river where possible.

There will usually be a dedicated support team on the trip to move luggage and equipment, set up camp, and prepare your food. You will find more detailed information about travel accommodation which is mentioned separately in the lodging section of each vacation package page.

However, you can expect excellent service and high quality in any budget range you choose. You can learn more about different types of travel and their features and the proposed travel price by contacting us directly where we will be very pleased to answer your questions. We always try to choose comfortable accommodation with local character reflecting the best value based on twin share accommodation.

When you book a trip, unless you request a private single room, we will arrange for you to share a twin bed room with a person of the same gender. If you request a private single room, you will need to pay a single room supplementary fee. Please note that during the trek, if the destination is 4000 meters above sea level, only dormitory accommodation with private beds will be available. On trekking trips we try our best but do not promise guaranteed room options. For most of our camping trips, we supply branded two-person tents, including groundsheets.

Mess tent, kitchen tent, toilet tent, service plates, bowls, and all necessities are provided. Members of the mountaineering travel group are requested to manage according to the options given on the website.
