Trip Description - Sikles Community Trek

The main purpose of Sikles Community Trek is to get to know the community at the foot of the Himalayas and the people here. The trek is also called Sikles Village Trek as well as Gurung Heritage Trail Trek. Sikles is a beautiful, well-kept Gurung traditional village, located on a small hill at an altitude of 2,000 meters above sea level. It is famous for its very well preserved rustic experience and there are some good examples of traditional Gurung villages and their culture. We provide you with experienced guides for an unforgettable for this trek. We walk at an altitude of about 2,000 meters above sea level, keeping our distance from the high peaks. Still, the trekking is not as inconvenient as it seems at first glance, but, at the famous “Nepali Flat” here, the trekking route is often steep and downhill.

We walk through remote, picturesque villages, but enjoy the magnificent views of Mount Annapurna, Mount Manaslu and Mount Machhapuchhre. This is a community walk so visitors will be hosted in a private home according to the host schedule of the destination home. In this way, the visitors will stay in partly private homes and get a real impression of the life of the Nepalese people of the country.

    Upon your arrival in Nepal, Jagadamba Holidays representatives will greet you at Tribhuvan International Airport, holding a Jagadamba Holidays placard (signboard). In the event of a late-night arrival, our representative will arrange private transportation to the hotel. Detailed information about tour briefings and group meeting times will be communicated by the representative.

    During the meeting, we will discuss travel plans and services, and introduce the trek or tour guide according to the itinerary. It is mandatory to complete a legally binding travel form and a non-liability disclaimer form during this session. If any individual has an outstanding tour payment, it must be settled at this meeting.     Upon reaching Gairakhor, the journey continues with a scenic drive to Pokhara, known for its tranquil lakes and majestic mountains. The drive offers panoramic views of the Annapurna and Machhapuchchhare ranges, marking the trek’s fitting conclusion. In Pokhara, trekkers unwind by Phewa Lake, explore the lively Lakeside area, and partake in various activities. This transition from rustic trekking trails to Pokhara’s vibrancy marks the culmination of an unforgettable adventure, leaving lasting memories of Nepal’s majestic landscapes.

    The distance from Ghale Kharka to Bhujung Khola near Gairakhor (1200 m) is about 5.5 km, taking 2-3 hours, with an ascent of 10 meters and a descent of 450 meters. Upon arriving in Gairakhor, at an altitude of 1200 meters, you’ll proceed to drive to Pokhara by a private vehicle, concluding this part of your Annapurna trek. The distance from Bhujung Khola near Gairakhor (1200m) to Pokhara is approximately 22.5 km, taking 2-3 hours by private vehicle. This scenic drive allows trekkers to transition from trails to Pokhara, providing a chance to relax and reflect on their Annapurna trek. Lunch arrangements can be tailored, and accommodations for the night will be at Samjhana Cottage in Ghale Kharka and Hotel Middle Path & Spa or a similar standard hotel in Pokhara.

  14. Day 14 Travel from Pokhara to Kathmandu (1,350 m) by deluxe AC tourist bus

    Embark on a comfortable journey from Pokhara to Kathmandu (1,350 meters) aboard a deluxe air-conditioned tourist bus. This mode of transportation ensures a relaxing and scenic trip between these two prominent cities in Nepal. Enjoy the journey and the changing landscapes as you travel from the picturesque lakeside city of Pokhara back to the vibrant capital, Kathmandu.

    Upon arriving in Kathmandu, proceed with the hotel check-in process. After checking in, you’ll have free time to explore and enjoy the attractions of Kathmandu. Whether you choose to stroll through the bustling streets, visit cultural sites, or relax at a local café, make the most of your leisure time in the vibrant capital city. Accommodations for the night will be provided at Kathmandu Guest House or at a hotel of similar standard in Thamel.

  15. Day 15 Departure Day for Home - Depart at your convenience!

    After enjoying breakfast, kindly vacate your room and store your luggage at the hotel. Feel free to unwind in the hotel lobby or explore the nearby local market for any last-minute shopping for friends and family before you head to the airport for your homeward flight.

    As there is limited space at Kathmandu Airport, all airlines have requested passengers to report at the check-in counter three hours before the actual departure time. To accommodate this, we will pick you up from the hotel three and a half hours in advance, considering the estimated travel time to the airport is approximately half an hour.

Accommodation offered during the trip

The accommodation we use may vary depending on our package travel and the range of travel destinations. Before or after the trip you can book comfortable hotels in cities like Kathmandu and Pokhara for your stay. If you book a tea house trekking trip, we will provide a small two-bed room for sharing in the hill lodges which is a basic facility but very clean.

Now, better-equipped lodges are also available in Annapurna and Everest areas but we recommend trekkers to use accommodation above 3500 meters where clean rooms and clean food are readily available. Sometimes a level of flexibility may be required when trekking in remote mountain areas. We believe that you will complete your vacation without any problems and have the trip of a lifetime. If you book camping/trekking, our camping team will manage a comfortable camping site by the river where possible.

There will usually be a dedicated support team on the trip to move luggage and equipment, set up camp, and prepare your food. You will find more detailed information about travel accommodation which is mentioned separately in the lodging section of each vacation package page.

However, you can expect excellent service and high quality in any budget range you choose. You can learn more about different types of travel and their features and the proposed travel price by contacting us directly where we will be very pleased to answer your questions. We always try to choose comfortable accommodation with local character reflecting the best value based on twin share accommodation.

When you book a trip, unless you request a private single room, we will arrange for you to share a twin bed room with a person of the same gender. If you request a private single room, you will need to pay a single room supplementary fee. Please note that during the trek, if the destination is 4000 meters above sea level, only dormitory accommodation with private beds will be available. On trekking trips we try our best but do not promise guaranteed room options. For most of our camping trips, we supply branded two-person tents, including groundsheets.

Mess tent, kitchen tent, toilet tent, service plates, bowls, and all necessities are provided. Members of the mountaineering travel group are requested to manage according to the options given on the website.
