    Pashupati Bagmati Aarati

Aarti – One of the most fascinating rituals at the Pashupatinath Temple is the Pashupatinath Bagmati Aarti where prayers are offered for the welfare of all humanity. A holy river is flowed through the middle of the Pashupatinath temple area. The river divides the temple into two banks, on one side of which is the main Pashupatinath temple and on the other is the Aarti site. Aarti Puja is a ritual in which a lamp dipped in ghee (purified butter) is offered to the deity. Pashupatinath Bagmati Aarti follows the tradition of three priests chanting sacred mantras and lighting oil lamps, lanterns and other religious elements. Priests perform Aarti by going around an oil lamp and dedicate their deeds to God. Bhajans (songs with religious themes) are sung by devotees during the aarti, creating a joyful atmosphere. Aarti starts every evening at 6 pm. Pashupatinath Bagmati Aarti of Pashupatinath temple started in 2006 and since 2006 it has been established as a regular tradition. Since then, this aarti has been entertaining thousands of people every year. Monday is considered an auspicious day for worshiping Lord Shiva and a large number of devotees are present on this day.

  3. Day 3 An Introductory Tour of Hinduism and Buddhism

Today we will visit Pashupatinath temple, Bouddhnath stupa and Swayambhunath stupa. The Hindu temple of Pashupatinath is the oldest Hindu temple in Kathmandu of Nepal. The temple is not known for certain when Pashupatinath Temple was built. But, according to Nepal Mahatmaya and Himvatkhanda, the deity here gained great fame there as Pashupati and the Temple’s existence is recorded as early as 400 CE.

Boudhanath Stupa is located in Kathmandu, the capital of Nepal. Boudhanath Stupa is also known as Boudha, Boudhanath or Khas Chaitya. Most of the locals call it Khasti in Nepali language and Jyarung Khashor in Tibetan language. It is true that stupas are symbols of Buddhism in Nepal. Now UNESCO has declared this stupa as a World Heritage Site of Nepal. According to Nepalese records, the Boudha Nath Stupa was first built by the Tibetan King Songtsen Gampo in 600 AD. Another thing is that it became an essential site for Tibetan Buddhism in Nepal in 1959.

Swayambhunath Stupa is another ancient place in Kathmandu worth visiting in Nepal. Being around 2500 years old, Swayambhunath Stupa is one of the oldest UNESCO heritage monuments in Nepal and one of the most important stupas in Nepal. Apart from the ancient architecture, the structure of the Swayambhunath Stupa also has a great meaning. The structure of the stupa represents the elements of life, earth, fire, air and water. The 13 rings on the Swayambhunath Stupa represent the 13 steps to achieving nirvana in life. Bhaktapur Durbar Square is a former royal palace complex located in Bhaktapur, Nepal. It housed the Malla kings of Nepal from the 14th century to the 15th century and the kings of the Bhaktapur kingdom from the 15th century to the end of the 18th century until the kingdom was acquired in 1769.

Changu Narayan Temple is an ancient Hindu temple also known as Changu or Dolagiri located on a high hill in Changu Narayan Municipality of Bhaktapur District, Nepal. This hill is about 7 mi (or 12 km) east of Kathmandu and a few miles north of Bhaktapur. Manohara river flows along the mountain. This temple is considered to be one of the oldest temples in Nepal. The temple is dedicated to Lord Vishnu and is held in special respect by Hindu people. The temple is surrounded by a forest of Champak trees and a small village known as Changu. It is said that the Kashmiri king married his daughter Champak to the prince of Bhaktapur. The temple is believed to be named after her.

Accommodation offered during the trip

The accommodation we use may vary depending on our package travel and the range of travel destinations. Before or after the trip you can book comfortable hotels in cities like Kathmandu and Pokhara for your stay. If you book a tea house trekking trip, we will provide a small two-bed room for sharing in the hill lodges which is a basic facility but very clean.

Now, better-equipped lodges are also available in Annapurna and Everest areas but we recommend trekkers to use accommodation above 3500 meters where clean rooms and clean food are readily available. Sometimes a level of flexibility may be required when trekking in remote mountain areas. We believe that you will complete your vacation without any problems and have the trip of a lifetime. If you book camping/trekking, our camping team will manage a comfortable camping site by the river where possible.

There will usually be a dedicated support team on the trip to move luggage and equipment, set up camp, and prepare your food. You will find more detailed information about travel accommodation which is mentioned separately in the lodging section of each vacation package page.

However, you can expect excellent service and high quality in any budget range you choose. You can learn more about different types of travel and their features and the proposed travel price by contacting us directly where we will be very pleased to answer your questions. We always try to choose comfortable accommodation with local character reflecting the best value based on twin share accommodation.

When you book a trip, unless you request a private single room, we will arrange for you to share a twin bed room with a person of the same gender. If you request a private single room, you will need to pay a single room supplementary fee. Please note that during the trek, if the destination is 4000 meters above sea level, only dormitory accommodation with private beds will be available. On trekking trips we try our best but do not promise guaranteed room options. For most of our camping trips, we supply branded two-person tents, including groundsheets.

Mess tent, kitchen tent, toilet tent, service plates, bowls, and all necessities are provided. Members of the mountaineering travel group are requested to manage according to the options given on the website.
