Trip Description - Nagarkot Day Tour

Nagarkot is a former village development committee located in Bhaktapur District of Bagmati Province, 28 km east of Tribhuvan International Airport, Kathmandu and was part of Nagarkot Municipality at the time of the 2015 census. At the time of the 2011 census, it had a population of 4,571 and 973 households. Nagarkot is considered to be the most beautiful place in Bhaktapur district at an altitude of 2,175 meters. Nagarkot is also known for the sunrise view of the Himalayas including Everest and other peaks of the Himalayan range in eastern Nepal. A panoramic view of Kathmandu Valley can be seen from Nagarkot. The natural beauty of this place makes it a very popular trekking route for tourists.

Nagarkot commands one of the widest views of the Himalayas in the Kathmandu Valley (8 of Nepal’s 13 Himalayan ranges from here). These include the Annapurna Range, Manaslu Range, Ganesh Himal Range, Langtang Range, Jugal Range, Rolwaling Range, Mahalangur Range (Mount Everest Range) and Numbur Range with views of the Kathmandu Valley and Shivpuri National Park. For those active nature lovers and outdoor enthusiasts, there are many trekking opportunities in and around Nagarkot. Among them Nagarkot Eco Trail (Nature Walk) and Nagarkot panoramic hiking are the most popular. Paragliding can also be done while going to see Everest in Nagarkot.

Bhaktapur Durbar Square

Bhaktapur Durbar Square is a former royal palace complex located in Bhaktapur, Nepal. From the 14th century to the 15th century, the Malla kings of Nepal and the kings of the Bhaktapur kingdom until the end of the 15th century lived here until they conquered the kingdom in 1769. Today, this category is managed jointly by the Archeology department and it is recognized by UNESCO as well. Durbar Square Mall is the common name of Durbar Square and is also found in Kathmandu and Patan. The one in Bhaktapur was considered the largest and grandest among the three at the time of independence, but now many buildings occupying this area have been destroyed due to frequent earthquakes. At its height, Bhaktapur Durbar Square had 99 courtyards, but today only 15 courtyards remain.
