Mera Peak Expedition is one of the highest trekking peaks in Nepal, which is situated in the Everest region to the east of the main Khumbu trekking route, Mera Peak stands at 6,476 meter above sea level. The trail follows by crossing the high ridges and spectacular deep river gorges of the Sherpa homeland of Everest region before entering the less-frequented wilderness of the Hinku valley. The climb to the top of the Mera Peak provides a chance to see the amazing views of Everest, Lhotse, Makalu, Kanchenjunga and Cho-Oyu.

The climb on Mera Peak top offers the amazing panoramic views of five world’s 8000 meter peaks, Kanchenjunga, Makalu, Lhotse, Everest and Cho Oyu. Mera Peak trekking and climbing route can be suitable for fit and experienced hill walkers, who are looking to take part in Himalayan peak climbing. We will continue this trekking to the northwards into the Khare of the Mera Peak. Before ascending to Mera Peak (6,476 m) you have to sleep one night in a tented camp at a high camp, managed by a local lodge in Khare.

We provide standard accommodation (twin share bed room) during trekking and excellent tented camp at Mera Peak High Camp. Trekkers will continue hiking to the Khare passing the hidden Buddhist monasteries, Sherpa culture and magnificent views of surrounding peaks. If you are capable of making this trip, no need to worry about trekking, because our trekking guide will make it a safe and lifetime memorable journey. After having a taste of the sublime beauty of Mera Peak your journey ends and you need to go back to Lukla to take a short flight to Kathmandu. The best time for this peak is spring and autumn.

  20. Day 20 Buffer day in Kathmandu for private tourist activities

Famous for its hilly airports, Nepal offers many domestic flights giving you access to all parts of the country. When there is less time in Nepal, it is better to take a local flight to avoid long journeys. Mountain weather is often unpredictable, but it’s best to add one or two buffer days after your trek to adjust the time for flight delays. If you are planning an international flight around one of your domestic flights from a mountainous area, add at least one day of buffer travel days to your itinerary if possible. We will meet again in the evening for a farewell dinner at one of the best Nepali restaurants in the city, where we will be eager to hear your feedback about the trip.

Here is information about possible one-day activities. Listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, the main attractions of the Kathmandu Valley are three Durbar Square (Kathmandu, Patan and Bhaktapur) and four temples and stupas (Swayambhunath, Boudhanath, Pashupatinath Temple and Changu Narayan Temple). If you want to walk all day (8 hours), you can visit any four places [Boudhanath, Pashupatinath Temple, Changu Narayan Temple and Bhaktapur Durbar Square] or [Swayambhunath, Bungmati, Patan Durbar Square and Kathmandu Durbar Square] in one day. We can arrange a day trip at your request, and the service user will have to pay extra directly for it. Customers can hire a guide and car or rent a car. Stay overnight at the hotel with daily breakfast.

  21. Day 21 Departure from Nepal: Depart anytime!

After breakfast, you should leave your room and store your luggage at the hotel and relax in the hotel lobby or explore the surrounding local market for last minute shopping for friends and family until you head to the airport for your flight back home.

Due to limited space at Kathmandu Airport, all airlines have requested to report at the check-in counter three hours before the actual flight departure time. Therefore, we will pick you up from the hotel three and a half hours in advance, as the estimated travel time to the airport is around half an hour.

We hope that your visit to Nepal and the activities you do during your visit will remind you to visit Nepal again in the future. As per the service policy of Jagadamba Holidays, your journey will conclude with a farewell at the airport. Have a safe and pleasant journey ahead. Thank you, see you again!

Accommodation offered during the trip

The accommodation we use may vary depending on our package travel and the range of travel destinations. Before or after the trip you can book comfortable hotels in cities like Kathmandu and Pokhara for your stay. If you book a tea house trekking trip, we will provide a small two-bed room for sharing in the hill lodges which is a basic facility but very clean.

Now, better-equipped lodges are also available in Annapurna and Everest areas but we recommend trekkers to use accommodation above 3,500 meters where clean rooms and clean food are readily available. Sometimes a level of flexibility may be required when trekking in remote mountain areas. We believe that you will complete your vacation without any problems and have the trip of a lifetime. If you book camping/trekking, our camping team will manage a comfortable camping site by the river where possible.

There will usually be a dedicated support team on the trip to move luggage and equipment, set up camp, and prepare your food. You will find more detailed information about travel accommodation which is mentioned separately in the lodging section of each vacation package page.

However, you can expect excellent service and high quality in any budget range you choose. You can learn more about different types of travel and their features and the proposed travel price by contacting us directly where we will be very pleased to answer your questions. We always try to choose comfortable accommodation with local character reflecting the best value based on twin share accommodation.

When you book a trip, unless you request a private single room, we will arrange for you to share a twin bed room with a person of the same gender. If you request a private single room, you will need to pay a single room supplementary fee. Please note that during the trek, if the destination is 4000 meters above sea level, only dormitory accommodation with private beds will be available. On trekking trips we try our best but do not promise guaranteed room options. For most of our camping trips, we supply branded two-person tents, including groundsheets.

Mess tent, kitchen tent, toilet tent, service plates, bowls, and all necessities are provided. Members of the mountaineering travel group are requested to manage according to the options given on the website.
