Trip Description - Manaslu Circuit Trek

Manaslu Circuit Trek lies towards, to the north of the historic fortress town of Gorkha from where the last kings of Nepal ventured forth to conquer the rest of the country in the 18th Century. This beautiful mountain Manaslu (8,163 meters) is the eighth highest mountain in the world. Manaslu Round Trek also called “around Manaslu trek, Trek around Manaslu, Manaslu circuit trek, Trek rund um den Manaslu, Rund um den Manaslu, Manaslu Runde Trek, and Trek around Manaslu”. We travel from Kathmandu to Soti Khola (700 m) by private vehicle. Tomorrow morning, trekking will start through the impressive gorge of the Budhi Gandaki. This trek is just introduced as the lodge trek (tea house).

By crossing the Larkya La pass (5,106 m), the highest altitude of the trek, we reach Bhimtang (Bimtang), which is the last point of the Manaslu Trek. The sometimes narrow and steep paths need special attention before your leg moves. Carefully book your Himalayan journey, such as Manaslu, Tsum Valley, Nar Phu Valley, Annapurna Foothills Trek and non-touristic Himalayan trekking routes, where not the busiest tea houses and crowded trekking routes are. After having a taste of the sublime beauty of Manaslu Circuit Trek, your journey ends and you come to Besisahar to depart for Kathmandu by standard bus or Toyota HiAce.

Also, on the rest day in Kathmandu on this trip, we particularly recommend a first visit to Nepal: the old royal city – Bhaktapur Durbar, Buddhist stupa – Boudhanath and Hindu temple – Pashupatinath.

  1. Day 1 Departure from home country to Nepal!

  2. Day 2 Kathmandu Arrival Day: Arrive anytime!

    Upon arrival in Nepal, Jagadamba Holidays representatives will welcome you at Tribhuvan International Airport with a Jagadamba Holidays placard (Jagadamba Holidays signboard). In case of late night arrival, private transportation to the hotel will be arranged by the representative. Clients will be notified of tour briefings and group meeting times by a representative.

    In the meeting we discuss the travel plans and services and introduce the trek or tour guide as per the itinerary. You must completely fill up a legally binding travel form and a non-liability disclaimer form. If any person’s tour payment is due, such person must pay at this meeting. Stay overnight at Kathmandu Guest House in Thamel.

  3. Day 3 Travel from Kathmandu to Soti Khola (700 m) by private jeep

  4. Day 4 Trek from Soti Khola - Machhakhola (870 m)

  5. Day 5 Trek from Machhakhola to Jagat (1,350 m)

  6. Day 6 Trek from Jagat to Dyang (1,860 m)

  7. Day 7 Trek from Deng to Namrung (2,650 m)

  8. Day 8 Trek from Namrung to Lho (3,180 m)

  9. Day 9 Trek from Lho to Sama Gaon (3,530 m) via Punggen Gompa (ca. 4,200 m)

  10. Day 10 Sama Gaon : Day trip to Manaslu Base Camp (about 4,400 m),

  11. Day 11 Trek from Sama Gaon to Samdo (3,870 m). Afterwards acclimatization tour to/direction Samdo Ri (5,140 m)

  12. Day 12 Trek from Samdo to Dharmasala / Larkya La Base Camp (4,470 m)

  13. Day 13 Trek from Dharamsala to Bimthang (3,720 m) via Larkya La (5,106 m) 

  14. Day 14 Trek from Bimthang to Dharapani (1,950 m) via Yak Kharka and Tilije

  15. Day 15 Trek from Dharapani to Syange (1,100 m) via Jagat 

  16. Day 16 Trek from Sange to Nadi Bazar (930 m) and Drive to Kathmandu

  17. Day 17 Kathmandu : Reserve day in case of any weather problem to cross Larkya La.

  18. Day 18 Departure from Nepal: Depart anytime!

    After breakfast, you should leave your room and store your luggage at the hotel and relax in the hotel lobby or explore the surrounding local market for last minute shopping for friends and family until you head to the airport for your flight back home.

    Due to limited space at Kathmandu Airport, all airlines have requested to report at the check-in counter three hours before the actual flight departure time. Therefore, we will pick you up from the hotel three and a half hours in advance, as the estimated travel time to the airport is around half an hour.

Accommodation offered during the trip

The accommodation we use may vary depending on our package travel and the range of travel destinations. Before or after the trip you can book comfortable hotels in cities like Kathmandu and Pokhara for your stay. If you book a tea house trekking trip, we will provide a small two-bed room for sharing in the hill lodges which is a basic facility but very clean.

Now, better-equipped lodges are also available in Annapurna and Everest areas but we recommend trekkers to use accommodation above 3500 meters where clean rooms and clean food are readily available. Sometimes a level of flexibility may be required when trekking in remote mountain areas. We believe that you will complete your vacation without any problems and have the trip of a lifetime. If you book camping/trekking, our camping team will manage a comfortable camping site by the river where possible.

There will usually be a dedicated support team on the trip to move luggage and equipment, set up camp, and prepare your food. You will find more detailed information about travel accommodation which is mentioned separately in the lodging section of each vacation package page.

However, you can expect excellent service and high quality in any budget range you choose. We always try to choose comfortable accommodation with local character reflecting the best value based on twin share accommodation.

When you book a trip, unless you request a private single room, we will arrange for you to share a twin bed room with a person of the same gender. If you request a private single room, you will need to pay a single room supplementary fee. Please note that during the trek, if the destination is 4000 meters above sea level, only dormitory accommodation with private beds will be available. On trekking trips we try our best but do not promise guaranteed room options. For most of our camping trips, we supply branded two-person tents, including groundsheets.

Mess tent, kitchen tent, toilet tent, service plates, bowls, and all necessities are provided. Members of the mountaineering travel group are requested to manage according to the options given on the website.
