The snow-capped rocky Peak- Mount Kailash Parbat (Kangri Rimpoche), 6714meters high, is believed to be a place where founders of Buddhism, Jainism and Bonpo religions once meditated and resided. It is true that Hindus and Buddhists all over the world also worship this peak as the exact “Center of the Universe” while Jain believe that their first Saint obtains Liberation: “Freedom” meditating at Kangri.

Hindu people of around the world believe Mount Kailash/Kangri to be the abode of supreme Hindu God Lord Shiva and his wife Parvati. There is a difference between the facts of the beliefs of the Buddhist and Hindu peoples. The arduous pilgrimage to Kailash is done by Hindus to attain salvation, while for the Buddhist people this journey helps to achieve enlightenment and spread world peace. The Vajrayana Buddhists people call it Mount Meru and believe that Kangri as the home of the Demchok, who represent supreme bliss.

Manasarovar Lake, called Mapam Yumtso by Tibetans, lies just beside the sacred Mount Kailash. The word “manas” means mind or consciousness and “sarovar” means Lake, so it is defined as lake of consciousness. Hindu worship it as the bathing lake of Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati and Circumambulation Lake is believed to be purging one’s soul of sins and the body of sickness. Also, the Buddha considers Mapam Yumtso a desolate lake where the Buddha was conceived by his mother Mayadevi. Attraction of Manasarovar lake is there is along the lake’s shore is the ancient Chiu Monastery that is a revered spot for meditation. If you are traveling with a group of 25 people, don’t worry, we will operate according to the itinerary with your chosen dates and customizations. Websites for Nepal Trekking and Climbing mention group size here so it is not related to Kailash so please ignore this group size. Minimum group size for Kailash tour operation should be 25 people in a group as we need a minimum 25 people to get a Kailash tour permit. The quoted price is also based on it. Given price will be changed any time if TTB increases the price in future.

Tibet and Kailash tour operators of Kathmandu have agreed to form a single group if the travel date is the same and the booking is less than 25 people. We offer different brands but in Tibet, China they form the same group which is the main reason. Our main aim is to make traveling easy and provide quality service. Indian and Nepalese tour operators can’t do anything in Tibet because the Chinese are different from the rest of the world, so it’s best to go on a trip with the idea that we’re only going to visit Lord Shiva’s birth place. Also keep in mind that we are only going to touch Mount Kailash. Don’t expect any luxury during the Kailash Yatra.
