Trip Description - Langtang Tamang Cultural Trek

Tamang Heritage Trail Trek  trekking route is a  newly opened trekking route in Langtang region. It is one of the new and exclusive trails opened for foreigners in 2004, developed by Tourism for the Rural Poverty Alleviation Program. The trekking starts from Kathmandu which is the capital of the Himalayan state “Nepal“, where you will explore and explore the city in your spare time in anticipation of your ascent. Trekkers will have the opportunity to experience some of the country’s most beautiful landscapes, such as natural excellence, Buddhist lifestyle, rich hill house architecture, beautiful desert landscapes, ancient natural wonders, terraced green plains of the Langtang Himalayas near the Tibetan border, and dense forests.

The Himalayas are also home to style monasteries, lesser-known traditional culture, language and religious affiliation of the vast Tamang community. The walk starts and ends at Syabrubesi. Trekkers will go to Syabrubesi by air-conditioned deluxe scheduled bus and return to Kathmandu from Syabrubesi. Walking the Tamang Heritage Trail has the added benefit of providing sustainable economic benefits to local communities. On the first day of the Goljung trek, you can climb for 2 hours. After the climb, you will be rewarded with an excellent view of the Ganesh mountain range. Goljung is an easy walk from Gatlang. The next day they will descend to Trishuli river via Mani-wall and Chortens.

Usually the “Tamang Heritage Trail ” trek ends at Shyabru Besi but we have combined this trek with Kyangjin Gompa so the trek will end at the height of 2,238 Khangjim village. Khangjim is the midpoint of Briddim and Shyabru Besi. From here, we follow the main trails of the Langtang Valley Trek to Kyangjin Gompa. During the trek, we will explore the Langtang Valley and follow the roaring Langtang River that cuts through the gorge. After Ghoretabela, the valley opens up into grasslands and small farming settlements. Here we will cross the very long Buddhist Gem Wall.

A local village no longer exists, buried under millions of tons of rock and ice in a devastating earthquake in the spring of 2015. The gompa is the only permanent building. There are five white flags in memory of the dead in the ruins. An optional day hike to one of the surrounding peaks, Kyangjin Ri (4300 m) or Tsergo Ri (4,985) is possible. From Tserkori Peak, one can see a panoramic view of the entire Langtang Mountains including Langtang Lirung and Shishapangma.

One thing to keep in mind is that the bus is usually old and crowded which gives the journey a new experience. However, don’t be surprised if you find goats, chickens or sheep on the bus. Most local buses stop anywhere to add more passengers. Most of the local drivers plying this route are experts, so it is safe to travel by public transport. Most of the domestic and international trekkers visiting the Langtang region use this option on a daily basis. However, you can also opt for a comfortable travel experience, which brings us to option that is private vehicle.

Leaving Shyabru Besi, hikers slowly climb the trails until you reach the view point. From there you can see the magnificent Ganesh Himal, Gosainkunda and Goljung valley. After a short break at a view point, you will continue your trek through several traditional Tamang settlements. During today’s trek there is an opportunity to get magnificent views of the landscape and awe-inspiring views of the peaks. From here you can reach the Gatlang after a few hours of walking. Gatlang is a beautiful Tamang settlement surrounded by terraced farmland on the hill. In the afternoon, you can visit the beautiful Parvati Kund, explore the village and interact with the people. The people of Gatlang are very friendly and good natured.

Today’s walk begins with a descent to Thambuchet, a beautiful river. After lunch, the trail heads up again, crossing a hanging bridge and climbing to Tatopani, your stop for the night. As you pass through the incredible rhododendron forest clinging to the hillside, the vines and moss-covered trees give your surroundings a real “prehistoric” feel. However, instead of dinosaurs you are more likely to encounter an army of gray langur monkeys. After this, we reach Brimdang village before continuing on the bumpiest and steep part of the trail. One after the other, one can see better and better views of Ganesh Himal in the west and Langtang Himal in the east. About 45 minutes from Brimdang, the ridgeline ends in the open grasslands of the Nagthali Danda.

Described by some as the “Pun Hill of Langtang” (a popular view of the famous Annapurna region), Taruche offers panoramic views of Mount Ganesh to the west, Shishapangma (8,013 m) in Tibet to the north and Langtang to the east. Taruche View Point also has the added advantage of being much quieter than Poon Hill. This is one of the “Off the Beaten Treks” trails in Nepal. The off the beaten treks for cultural encounter helps to discover the mysteries of Tibetan Buddhism at the edge of one of the most secluded Himalayan valleys. In fact, during your hike, don’t be surprised if you’re the only person there but have to capture the best view. Of course, the photos don’t do it justice; you must visit to experience this magnificent sight for yourself. No wonder the hill serves as a perfect place for meditation and contemplation for monks. Stay here as long as you want, take in the ideas and enjoy the sense of accomplishment. After the sunrise tour, if you don’t have breakfast, return to the lodge. After breakfast, start your trek to Thuman. Accommodation offered during the trip

The accommodation we use may vary depending on our package travel and the range of travel destinations. Before or after the trip you can book comfortable hotels in cities like Kathmandu and Pokhara for your stay. If you book a tea house trekking trip, we will provide a small two-bed room for sharing in the hill lodges which is a basic facility but very clean.

Now, better-equipped lodges are also available in Annapurna and Everest areas but we recommend trekkers to use accommodation above 3,500 meters where clean rooms and clean food are readily available. Sometimes a level of flexibility may be required when trekking in remote mountain areas. We believe that you will complete your vacation without any problems and have the trip of a lifetime. If you book camping/trekking, our camping team will manage a comfortable camping site by the river where possible.

There will usually be a dedicated support team on the trip to move luggage and equipment, set up camp, and prepare your food. You will find more detailed information about travel accommodation which is mentioned separately in the lodging section of each vacation package page.

However, you can expect excellent service and high quality in any budget range you choose. You can learn more about different types of travel and their features and the proposed travel price by contacting us directly where we will be very pleased to answer your questions. We always try to choose comfortable accommodation with local character reflecting the best value based on twin share accommodation.
