The main attraction of the village is the 14th century monastery on a cliff 200 meters above Thame village. You can take a walking tour of the monastery to see delicate thanksgiving (traditional Buddhist paintings) and murals. The path up to Thame Monastery is steep so a steady pace is required. Most people agree that seeing the traditionally decorated interior of the gompa is worth the effort of the climb. After spending some time at the monastery, there is an option to extend our customized trek to the shoulder of Sumdur Ridge (4,830m).

After breakfast at the lodge, trekkers will pack their bags and begin today’s journey to Dzongla via Cho La. We start early this morning as today is the toughest day of the trek as it is the Cho La Pass at an altitude of 5,420 m.

The trek starts with a gentle long climb that gets tougher before climbing the challenging Cho La Pass (5,420m). This pass connects Thagnak and Dzongla villages. The trail leads through a frozen lake to a pass decorated with prayer flags. From the peak of Chola (5,420 m), the panoramic view of mountains including Ama Dablam, Cholatse, Lobuche East, Baruntse is a matter of wonder for trekkers. Ice-greased trails can make the descent of Dzongla challenging. The pass is not that difficult, but its rocky terrain and the steepness of crossing the glacier make it challenging. The path is steep, and snow-covered rocks make it difficult for trekkers to travel. Therefore, one should be very careful while walking on today’s journey.

As we ascend from Cho La Pass, the scenery becomes increasingly spectacular. The panoramic view of Ama Dablam, Cholatse, Lobuche East and Baruntse mountains inspires us and drives us forward to our destination. When you are at 5,420 meters above Cho La, take a short rest to enjoy the amazing mountain scenery around. After crossing the Cho La pass, we will quickly descends to the Dzongla through some crevasses and pine forests during our trek. After reaching Dzongla you have stunning views of Mount Cholatse, Mount Ama Dablam, Lobuche and the village below Pheriche.

On today’s journey, we will climb 730 meters and descend 620 meters. The walking distance is about 8.90 km and it takes about 8-9 hours to reach the destination. To return to Gorakshep, you have to walk for 2 hours. After an eight-hour trek, today’s trek will end. Today’s journey is challenging for most people. In today’s trekking journey we will climb 430 meters and descended 190 meters. The walking distance is about 13.60 km (including base camp round trip) and it takes about 7-8 hours to reach the destination and back to Gorakshep. Lunch will be provided according to your appetite during the trek, in between or at the destination. Stay overnight at the Everest Inn or Buddha Lodge or Himalayan Lodge in Gorakshep.

  21. Day 21 Kathmandu, Reserve Day

Famous for its hilly airports, Nepal offers many domestic flights giving you access to all parts of the country. When there is less time in Nepal, it is better to take a local flight to avoid long journeys. Mountain weather is often unpredictable, but it’s best to add one or two buffer days after your trek to adjust the time for flight delays. If you are planning an international flight around one of your domestic flights from a mountainous area, add at least one day of buffer travel days to your itinerary if possible. We will meet again in the evening for a farewell dinner at one of the best Nepali restaurants in the city, where we will be eager to hear your feedback about the trip.

Here is information about possible one-day activities. Listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, the main attractions of the Kathmandu Valley are three Durbar Square (Kathmandu, Patan and Bhaktapur) and four temples and stupas (Swayambhunath, Boudhanath, Pashupatinath Temple and Changu Narayan Temple). If you want to walk all day (8 hours), you can visit any four places [Boudhanath, Pashupatinath Temple, Changu Narayan Temple and Bhaktapur Durbar Square] or [Swayambhunath, Bungmati, Patan Durbar Square and Kathmandu Durbar Square] in one day. We can arrange a day trip at your request, and the service user will have to pay extra directly for it. Customers can hire a guide and car or rent a car. Stay overnight at Kathmandu Guest House or similar standard hotel in Thamel.

  22. Day 22 Departure from Nepal: Depart anytime!

After breakfast, you should leave your room and store your luggage at the hotel and relax in the hotel lobby or explore the surrounding local market for last minute shopping for friends and family until you head to the airport for your flight back home.

Due to limited space at Kathmandu Airport, all airlines have requested to report at the check-in counter three hours before the actual flight departure time. Therefore, we will pick you up from the hotel three and a half hours in advance, as the estimated travel time to the airport is around half an hour.

We hope that your visit to Nepal and the activities you do during your visit will remind you to visit Nepal again in the future. As per the service policy of Jagadamba Holidays, your journey will conclude with a farewell at the airport. Have a safe and pleasant journey ahead. Thank you, see you again!

Accommodation offered during the trip

The accommodation we use may vary depending on our package travel and the range of travel destinations. Before or after the trip you can book comfortable hotels in cities like Kathmandu and Pokhara for your stay. If you book a tea house trekking trip, we will provide a small two-bed room for sharing in the hill lodges which is a basic facility but very clean.

Now, better-equipped lodges are also available in Annapurna and Everest areas but we recommend trekkers to use accommodation above 3,500 meters where clean rooms and clean food are readily available. Sometimes a level of flexibility may be required when trekking in remote mountain areas. We believe that you will complete your vacation without any problems and have the trip of a lifetime. If you book camping/trekking, our camping team will manage a comfortable camping site by the river where possible.

There will usually be a dedicated support team on the trip to move luggage and equipment, set up camp, and prepare your food. You will find more detailed information about travel accommodation which is mentioned separately in the lodging section of each vacation package page.

However, you can expect excellent service and high quality in any budget range you choose. You can learn more about different types of travel and their features and the proposed travel price by contacting us directly where we will be very pleased to answer your questions.
