Trekking from Jiri is the stairs of heaven, experiences towards heaven! This trek offers everything you would expect from a hike in the footsteps of great adventures. This trek starts from the bottom in a field of lush paddy fields and subtropical hilly forests, and slowly goes making our way through the endless snow of eight-thousand. We head to Lukla then to the Namche Bazaar which is the hub of Sherpas. After one acclimatized day in Name Bazaar – we head to the beautiful Gokyo Valley. A first mountaineering highlight is the ascent of the Gokyo Ri (5350 m). Always accompanied by shaggy yaks, we then hike back to Phortse and approach Everest Base Camp. In good condition we climb the 5,550 meter high Kala Patthar and are very close to some of the most beautiful and highest mountains in the world: Mount Everest, Lhotse, Makalu, Cho Oyu, Ama Dablam.

Trip Description - Everest Base Camp Classic

The trek from Jiri to Everest Base Camp is called the Everest Base Camp Classic Trek which is an amazing trail in Nepal and the ‘classic’ route to reach EBC (an option before flying to Lukla). And while the trek from Jiri to Everest Base Camp is challenging (in fact, it’s the toughest), it’s worth every step. The Jiri to EBC hike will help you get fit, but the section between Jiri and Chheplung also offers beautiful views and is much quieter than the main EBC trail. The journey starts from Kathmandu which is the capital of the Himalayan state “Nepal“, where you will explore and explore the city in your spare time in anticipation of your ascent.

  2. Day 2 Kathmandu Arrival Day: Arrive anytime!

    Upon arrival in Nepal, Jagadamba Holidays representatives will welcome you at Tribhuvan International Airport with a Jagadamba Holidays placard (Jagadamba Holidays signboard). In case of late night arrival, private transportation to the hotel will be arranged by the representative. Clients will be notified of tour briefings and group meeting times by a representative.

    In the meeting we discuss the travel plans and services and introduce the trek or tour guide as per the itinerary. You must completely fill up a legally binding travel form and a non-liability disclaimer form. If any person’s tour payment is due, such person must pay at this meeting.     After breakfast, you should leave your room and store your luggage at the hotel and relax in the hotel lobby or explore the surrounding local market for last minute shopping for friends and family until you head to the airport for your flight back home.

    Due to limited space at Kathmandu Airport, all airlines have requested to report at the check-in counter three hours before the actual flight departure time. Therefore, we will pick you up from the hotel three and a half hours in advance, as the estimated travel time to the airport is around half an hour.

    We hope that your visit to Nepal and the activities you do during your visit will remind you to visit Nepal again in the future. Accommodation offered during the trip

The accommodation we use may vary depending on our package travel and the range of travel destinations. Before or after the trip you can book comfortable hotels in cities like Kathmandu and Pokhara for your stay. If you book a tea house trekking trip, we will provide a small two-bed room for sharing in the hill lodges which is a basic facility but very clean.

Now, better-equipped lodges are also available in Annapurna and Everest areas but we recommend trekkers to use accommodation above 3,500 meters where clean rooms and clean food are readily available. Sometimes a level of flexibility may be required when trekking in remote mountain areas. We believe that you will complete your vacation without any problems and have the trip of a lifetime. If you book camping/trekking, our camping team will manage a comfortable camping site by the river where possible.

There will usually be a dedicated support team on the trip to move luggage and equipment, set up camp, and prepare your food. You will find more detailed information about travel accommodation which is mentioned separately in the lodging section of each vacation package page.

However, you can expect excellent service and high quality in any budget range you choose. You can learn more about different types of travel and their features and the proposed travel price by contacting us directly where we will be very pleased to answer your questions. We always try to choose comfortable accommodation with local character reflecting the best value based on twin share accommodation.

When you book a trip, unless you request a private single room, we will arrange for you to share a twin bed room with a person of the same gender. If you request a private single room, you will need to pay a single room supplementary fee. Please note that during the trek, if the destination is 4000 meters above sea level, only dormitory accommodation with private beds will be available. On trekking trips we try our best but do not promise guaranteed room options. For most of our camping trips, we supply branded two-person tents, including groundsheets.

Mess tent, kitchen tent, toilet tent, service plates, bowls, and all necessities are provided. Members of the mountaineering travel group are requested to manage according to the options given on the website.
