Trip Description - Arun Valley Trek

Arun Valley Trek is a newly introduced lodge trek, but in comparison to Everest and Annapurna the service and accommodation is very basic. This trekking route covers the lower reaches of the Barun Makalu National Park. Arun valley is the deepest valley in the world and rich in natural wonders and tribal culture. Travelers get an opportunity to know about the sacred lake “Salpa Pokhari” where there is a fair during the month of October for hindu people around the world. It is non-touristic area, which offers superb views of high mountains, and gives chances to know about the culture and daily lifestyle of mountain people. Major communities of this trek are Sherpa, Rai Chhetri and Bramin. This trek starts from Tumlingtar where we can fly from Kathmandu.

After having a taste of the sublime beauty of Arun Valley Trek your journey ends and you need to go back to Lukla to take a short flight to Kathmandu. If for some reason there is no direct flight from Lukla to Kathmandu, airlines will operate flights from Lukla to Ramechhap. After reaching Ramechhap, airlines provide private transfer from Ramechhap to Kathmandu and it takes around 5 hours to reach Kathmandu.

If you have extra day at the end of your trek, we particularly recommend for a first time visitor to Nepal: old royal city – Bhaktapur Durbar, Buddhist stupa – Boudhanath and Hindu temple – Pashupatinath.

Extend Your Holiday:
When you make a booking for your Nepal holiday, you can also add days for a desired destination on top of the booked trip. Once we have received your trip booking we will contact you to discuss additional services required for the extension trip and if needful to take any additional payment required to pay in advance we will inform you on time.

Accommodation offered during the trip

The accommodation we use may vary depending on our package travel and the range of travel destinations. Before or after the trip you can book comfortable hotels in cities like Kathmandu and Pokhara for your stay. If you book a tea house trekking trip, we will provide a small two-bed room for sharing in the hill lodges which is a basic facility but very clean.

Now, better-equipped lodges are also available in Annapurna and Everest areas but we recommend trekkers to use accommodation above 3500 meters where clean rooms and clean food are readily available. Sometimes a level of flexibility may be required when trekking in remote mountain areas. We believe that you will complete your vacation without any problems and have the trip of a lifetime. If you book camping/trekking, our camping team will manage a comfortable camping site by the river where possible.

There will usually be a dedicated support team on the trip to move luggage and equipment, set up camp, and prepare your food. You will find more detailed information about travel accommodation which is mentioned separately in the lodging section of each vacation package page.

However, you can expect excellent service and high quality in any budget range you choose. You can learn more about different types of travel and their features and the proposed travel price by contacting us directly where we will be very pleased to answer your questions. We always try to choose comfortable accommodation with local character reflecting the best value based on twin share accommodation.

When you book a trip, unless you request a private single room, we will arrange for you to share a twin bed room with a person of the same gender. If you request a private single room, you will need to pay a single room supplementary fee. Please note that during the trek, if the destination is 4000 meters above sea level, only dormitory accommodation with private beds will be available. On trekking trips we try our best but do not promise guaranteed room options. For most of our camping trips, we supply branded two-person tents, including groundsheets.

Mess tent, kitchen tent, toilet tent, service plates, bowls, and all necessities are provided. Members of the mountaineering travel group are requested to manage according to the options given on the website.
